En las últimas fases de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y después de 6 meses de intensos bombardeos de ciudades japonesas, el imperio japonés decidió ignorar el ultimatum enviado por las fuerzas aliadas.

El 6 de agosto de 1945, Hiroshima fue "perdonada" de un bombardeo tradicional y fue el objetivo de un nuevo tipo de arma experimental, cuyos efectos sobre una ciudad intacta pudieran ser observados y estudiados. Con el sobrenombre de Little Boy (Niño Pequeño), esta bomba era diferente a todas las antes vistas en cualquier guerra.

Little Boy

Little Boy y sus dimensiones de tres metros de largo por setenta y un centímetros de diámetro no la hacían más grande que las presentes en aquella época. Dentro de la bomba se situó el explosivo necesario para comprimir una serie de anillos de Uranio-235, con un peso de 64 kilogramos, lo cual desataría la fisión nuclear del material radioactivo. Menos de un kilo entró en un estado de fisión y aproximadamente sólo 0.6 gramos se convirtieron en energía pura.

Little Boy fue liberado del Enola Gay a una altura de 9,400 metros y detonó a sólo 580 metros sobre Hiroshima aproximadante a las 8:15 horas. La explosión que resultó fue comparable a 15,000 toneladas de TNT (15 kilotones). Una luz brillante, un pequeño sol de poco menos de 400 metros de diámetro que ardió a casi 4,000 °C a sólo 600 metros sobre el centro de Hiroshima. Cerca de la zona cero, todo lo inflamable ardió instantáneamente, el acero y el vidrio se fundieron y cientos de personas simplemente se vaporizaron literalmente.

La explosión creó una onda de choque que viajó con una velocidad mayor a la del sonido. Similar al estruendo de un relámpago y una sobrepresión de 5 psi (libras sobre pulgada cuadrada), tuvo un alcance de 2 kilómetros de diámetro donde provocó daños estructurales y fuego en los edificios de Hiroshima.

Cerca de 70,000 personas murieron a causa de la explosión de la bomba y la radiación subsecuente.

Con temor a publicar alguna mentira o dato no corroborado, comunico que la siguiente redacción me la hizo llegar un conocido que espero desmientan trabajadores de Mexicana de Aviación.

Tras las noticias de crisis económica que está viviendo Mexicana, han surgido comentarios y rumores de lo que realmente está pasando y este definitivamente es uno que corre por las venas de Mexicana y, de ser cierto, tiene que salir a la luz.

MEXICANA DE AVIACION MIENTE

Esta es la verdadera situación:
Mexicana de Aviación se queja de estar en crisis financiera, dice que por sus deudas con las arrendadoras de aviones y el gasto laboral de sus empleados está al borde de la quiebra. ESTO ES MENTIRA. Los pilotos y sobrecargos no aceptamos que la aerolínea diga estar en crisis debido a sus trabajadores. El fondo del problema tiene que ver con una pésima administración. Mexicana cumplió 89 años de vida y a Gastón Azcárraga sólo le tomó 4 años ponerla al borde de la quiebra.

En Diciembre del 2005 el IPAB (fondos del pueblo mexicano) le vendió a Gastón Azcárraga Mexicana de Aviación en 165 millones de dólares. En Octubre del 2006, los pilotos aceptamos reducciones y modificaciones en nuestro contrato colectivo de trabajo que le han ahorrado a la empresa 200 millones de dólares, ¡35 millones más de lo que le costó! A cambio de ceder algunas de nuestras prestaciones y reducción de salario prometieron incrementar en 30 aviones la flota de la empresa, pero sólo trajeron 5 y en vez de hacer crecer a Mexicana, crearon dos empresas de "bajo costo". Se comprometió a invertir en la aerolinea, pero nunca lo hizo, más bien la desmanteló.

Hace una semana, Mexicana exigió reducir 70% de nuestro sueldo y modificar el contrato, lo cual nos impediría asegurar que se respeten las normas internacionales que garantizan el buen desempeño de nuestra
labor, ahora la empresa amenaza con la quiebra y creemos que la seguridad de ustedes no tiene precio, es demasiado valiosa y es por ello que les pedimos su apoyo para evitar que quiebren a la aerolínea más antigua de México.

Los pilotos no permitiremos que desmantelen y/o quiebren a Mexicana de Aviación, que dejen en el desamparo a miles de trabajadores y no permitiremos que se atente contra la seguridad de nuestros pasajeros.

ASPA (Asociación Sindical de Pilotos Aviadores) ES PARTE DE LA SOLUCIÓN, NO DEL PROBLEMA!!!

Los sueldos de los pilotos de Mexicana son menores en un 12% al promedio de lo que ganan pilotos internacionales.

According to BP, the oil flow has been stopped

Today, the lates attemp to stop the oil flow has been succesful according by British Petroleum.

Engineers got to work after replacing a leaky pipe. Kent Wells, a BP PLC vice president, said at a news briefing in Houston that the leak was found on the side of the towering, 75-ton capping stack and it was fixed by replacing the assembly, called a "choke line."

The work sent the oil giant back to restarting preparations for testing whether the cap can stop the oil without blowing a new leak in the well. If it works, the cap will be a temporary fix until BP can drill into the gusher to plug it for good from underground, where the seal will hold better.

"If the well is leaking, then they have to open the valves again and they have to let the oil out again," Harris told NPR's Robert Siegel. "But if it's not, they can just leave these valves closed and this is the end of the spill essentially for right now."

They claim this is only the beginning of the end to the catastrophy. Check it out for yourself, here's a link to 12 bots working underwater.

It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.

And that’s when you met me.

“What… what happened?” You asked. “Where am I?”

“You died,” I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words.

“There was a… a truck and it was skidding…”

“Yup,” I said.

“I… I died?”

“Yup. But don’t feel bad about it. Everyone dies,” I said.

You looked around. There was nothingness. Just you and me. “What is this place?” You asked. “Is this the afterlife?”

“More or less,” I said.

“Are you god?” You asked.

“Yup,” I replied. “I’m God.”

“My kids… my wife,” you said.

“What about them?”

“Will they be all right?”

“That’s what I like to see,” I said. “You just died and your main concern is for your family. That’s good stuff right there.”

You looked at me with fascination. To you, I didn’t look like God. I just looked like some man. Or possibly a woman. Some vague authority figure, maybe. More of a grammar school teacher than the almighty.

“Don’t worry,” I said. “They’ll be fine. Your kids will remember you as perfect in every way. They didn’t have time to grow contempt for you. You wife will cry on the outside, but will be secretly relieved. To be fair, your marriage was falling apart. If it’s any consolation, she’ll feel very guilty for feeling relieved.”

“Oh,” you said. “So what happens now? Do I go to heaven or hell or something?”

“Neither,” I said. “You’ll be reincarnated.”

“Ah,” you said. “So the Hindus were right,”

“All religions are right in their own way,” I said. “Walk with me.”

You followed along as we strode through the void. “Where are we going?”

“Nowhere in particular,” I said. “It’s just nice to walk while we talk.”

“So what’s the point, then?” You asked. “When I get reborn, I’ll just be a blank slate, right? A baby. So all my experiences and everything I did in this life won’t matter.”

“Not so!” I said. “You have within you all the knowledge and experiences of all your past lives. You just don’t remember them right now.”

I stopped walking and took you by the shoulders. “Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had.

“You’ve been in a human for the last 48 years, so you haven’t stretched out yet and felt the rest of your immense consciousness. If we hung out here for long enough, you’d start remembering everything. But there’s no point to doing that between each life.”

“How many times have I been reincarnated, then?”

“Oh lots. Lots and lots. An in to lots of different lives.” I said. “This time around, you’ll be a Chinese peasant girl in 540 AD.”

“Wait, what?” You stammered. “You’re sending me back in time?”

“Well, I guess technically. Time, as you know it, only exists in your universe. Things are different where I come from.”

“Where you come from?” You said.

“Oh sure,” I explained “I come from somewhere. Somewhere else. And there are others like me. I know you’ll want to know what it’s like there, but honestly you wouldn’t understand.”

“Oh,” you said, a little let down. “But wait. If I get reincarnated to other places in time, I could have interacted with myself at some point.”

“Sure. Happens all the time. And with both lives only aware of their own lifespan you don’t even know it’s happening.”

“So what’s the point of it all?”

“Seriously?” I asked. “Seriously? You’re asking me for the meaning of life? Isn’t that a little stereotypical?”

“Well it’s a reasonable question,” you persisted.

I looked you in the eye. “The meaning of life, the reason I made this whole universe, is for you to mature.”

“You mean mankind? You want us to mature?”

“No, just you. I made this whole universe for you. With each new life you grow and mature and become a larger and greater intellect.”

“Just me? What about everyone else?”

“There is no one else,” I said. “In this universe, there’s just you and me.”

You stared blankly at me. “But all the people on earth…”

“All you. Different incarnations of you.”

“Wait. I’m everyone!?”

“Now you’re getting it,” I said, with a congratulatory slap on the back.

“I’m every human being who ever lived?”

“Or who will ever live, yes.”

“I’m Abraham Lincoln?”

“And you’re John Wilkes Booth, too,” I added.

“I’m Hitler?” You said, appalled.

“And you’re the millions he killed.”

“I’m Jesus?”

“And you’re everyone who followed him.”

You fell silent.

“Every time you victimized someone,” I said, “you were victimizing yourself. Every act of kindness you’ve done, you’ve done to yourself. Every happy and sad moment ever experienced by any human was, or will be, experienced by you.”

You thought for a long time.

“Why?” You asked me. “Why do all this?”

“Because someday, you will become like me. Because that’s what you are. You’re one of my kind. You’re my child.”

“Whoa,” you said, incredulous. “You mean I’m a god?”

“No. Not yet. You’re a fetus. You’re still growing. Once you’ve lived every human life throughout all time, you will have grown enough to be born.”

“So the whole universe,” you said, “it’s just…”

“An egg.” I answered. “Now it’s time for you to move on to your next life.”

The Darkness is Closing In

This is the status of the oil flow June 19th, 2010. Two months after the Deepwater Horizon explosion all procedures that have been tried have failed. This is what the oilcano has left the surface of the Gulf of Mexico.

All of the contingency plans that BP has concocted, have utterly failed. There are rumors that involve the detonation of a small yield nuclear bomb to try to collapse and stop the flow from the well. I don't think it such a good idea as a lot of methane gas can be stored in that deposit, and if the yield of the bomb is not calculated right, some bad things could result that would affect us all, dooming us all even before December 21, 2012.

A deconstruction of the 80's and what they really meant musically is what succeeded all night long, in the Little Tuesdays. Most, if not all, is remembered through the hazy images of bright neon lights, heavily sprayed hair and the dance of Rick Astley.

Top Kill procedure might be Successful

BP's procedure to block the flow of oil involves injecting "heavy mud" over the open well. Once the mud kills the flow, BP will then inject cement to cover the leak.

This procedure might be successful after all as initial reports seem to corroborate BP's efforts.

For a time I started thinking this well would never be shut but we might as well wait a little more before we all jump into conclusions.

This is not a spill, Exxo-Valdez was a spill. This is a fucking catastrophe. Exxon-Valdez spilled aproximately 40'900,000 liters. The BP Oil Spill' has not been measured correctly as BP is not allowing external scientist to accurately measure the rate of crude oil flowing from the damaged well.

Initial calculation by BP claimed that the flow was in the order of 160,000 liters PER DAY.

Calculations made by unbiased scientists estimate the flow around 151'416,471 liters PER DAY!

The flow has been going on uninterrupted since April 20, 2010. As of today, one month later, just imagine the damage this catastrophe has been brought upon all the Gulf of Mexico's ecosystems, not to mention the future repercussions this will pose.

As of today, the U.S. government and BP set up a LIVE FEED of the leaking well.

I found a photograph of the spill taken from the ISS (International Space Station) dating just a few days ago, but the picture itself does not show the magnitude of the spill in comparison to a known context. I took the liberty to superimpose the image over a map provided by Google Earth just to have an idea of the magnitude of this man-made gift to mother nature.

If you have been following Trent Reznor's new musical project, How to Destroy Angels, along with his wife Mariqueen Maandig you are surely to be surprised at their sort of new sound. Sure, it has the Reznor clic on it but IMO the vocals give it a new twist which I find appealing.

They have released a video with their first EP entitled The Space in Between. Check it out, it surely has the Reznor signature all over it.The EP is scheduled to be released Summer 2010.

UPDATE: Apparently, there is another stand alone song, A Drowning, in Youtube. This is not a video, so don't troll of the image does not change, it's just for auditory experiences. And if you look closely within the video, you may find answers on where to download the mp3.

Gone Vegan - 14-05-10

After five days of eating salads, cutting on meat and tortillas or bread (not to mention sodas). I am now at the forecasted weight of 83.0 Kg. That's a 2 kilo loss.

This is what I did:

Breakfast: Either a glass of chocolate milk (skimmed high fiber content milk), a glass with carrot juice
Lunch: A salad with grilled chicken, Green Tea and crackers
Dinner: One can of tuna mixed with Light Mayo and Tostadas. Water to drink.
Throughout the day, aproximately 2 liters of water you must drink.
Running/Bicycling/walking for one hour at a high pace.

I recommend this podcast for a running training. Very effective, not very difficult but challenging enough to make it NOT BORING.

Each tiny fruit composing the pineapple was a violet flower, which blooms only one day and then proceeds to grow into a fruit which then becomes part of a bunch of fruits melding together by growth into a composite one.

It’s been two weeks since this whole thing started.

It all started with a tanker accident. It was all over the news. Everyone thought it was just another oil spill. There were plenty of volunteers. Plenty of people wanting to help the poor defenseless animals. Plenty of victims. Within hours of the tanker accident, it started happening. The animals had gone crazy, they were scratching and biting the clean up volunteers. They said that it was an adverse effect to whatever was in that tanker.

Rescue workers were still trying to get the crew out of the ship. They could hear screaming inside. Screams to open the doors. But that’s when it all went to hell. As soon as they cut the door out.

There was six minutes of broadcast before it went silent. Six minutes of screaming and agony. The ship crew attacked the rescue workers like rabid baboons. Breaking bones and tearing flesh. The people on the shore weren’t fairing any better. Those that had been attacked by animals were attacking everyone else. It was worse than any war zone report, it was sheer brutality, and yet the broadcast still went on for six minutes. Six minutes and then blank faces. Nobody could explain what was happening. They tried to continue with regular news, the economy, the weather, a cute human interest story, but they couldn’t make us unsee what we saw.

I tried to continue with my regular existence but every time I switched on the news or walked by a news stand it was there. This big mystery. They had some explanations, some kind of infection, brain parasites, but it didn’t matter. It wasn’t an infection we were afraid of, it was them.

Four days after the initial report, a state of emergency was raised. And yet we’d all seen this before. Every zombie movie ever. People didn’t know who to trust. People were stockpiling food and weapons. Some tried to flee but it seems every zombie movie was right. They didn’t make it. Three days later they arrived in my town.

I expected moans, shuffling corpses, dismemberment, but that’s where the movies lied. They ran through the streets, screaming. I remember running to my front door as fast as I could, locking, barricading, doing anything to make sure it would stay shut, and then I headed for the window. I was on the second story and I could see the carnage. They were unstoppable. They were aware.

A group of them made their way through a building across the street. They jumped straight through plate glass windows. Even the shards slicing through them made no difference, they just kept coming. My barricade wasn’t going to hold. I rushed around my flat, grabbing supplies and jamming them into the most secure room of the flat. I went back for one last look across the street and I wish I hadn’t. In a second story window, my face met one of theirs. They knew where I was. I quickly dashed into the room and locked the door.

I don’t have any kind of panic room, or a secure basement, so the safest place I could think of was my bathroom. No windows, one door with a lock. I had filled my sink and bathtub full of water, so I could stay for a while. So I sat there in the dark room, with the distant screams in my ears.

I began to feel like I may have over-reacted, it had been two hours and no sign of them. It actually got quieter and I thought they had moved on. Maybe I could leave the room, get to the kitchen. Grab more food to wait it out. A crash came from the front door. The sound of someone running full force into the door and knocking down the barrier behind it. There was a couple more crashes before I knew they were inside. Rapid footsteps moving around the flat, a couple screams and then a bang on the wall beside me. My eyes were open to their widest, even in the pitch black darkness of the room. Another bang, and another. They knew I was there and they knew I was scared.

This was the zombie nightmare I had been expecting from the start. I had nowhere to run. There was only so much time before they would break in. I sat with my back to the door, hoping my extra weight would make it harder for them to get in. And then it got worse.

“Why don’t you open the door?”

A voice on the opposite side of the door. No screams or moans, just a quiet, whispery voice. And then more of them whispers.

“We’ve come for you.”

“You’ll be happier if you open the door.”

“It’s not so bad…”

The whispery voices, became a cacophony of noise trying to persuade me, to break me, to fool me. I had heard that the moaning of zombies would drive people insane but this was worse, a siren call. I sat in the darkness and hoped and prayed that they’d get bored. But they don’t get bored and they don’t leave. I managed to use the mirror to peak under the door, only to be greeted by horrible unblinking eyes, blood smeared faces, screams and more horrible whispers. That was two days ago…

I don’t know what to do anymore… maybe it won’t be so bad…

How to Install NVIDIA drivers in Linux Mint 8 "Helena" and 7 "Gloria"

Before "Helena", in Linux mint 7 "Gloria" you could install the NVIDIA drivers the following way:

Make sure you have disabled/unistalled previous versions of NVIDIA drivers you may have installed in your PC [System-Administration-Hardware Drivers]
Go to the virtual console by pressing Alt+Ctrl+F1
Login with your credentials and password
Stop the GDM/Xserver: sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
Now install the RUN package you downloaded with this command: sudo sh /home/username/Downloads/NVIDIA.run [I downloaded the package into the Downloads folder, if you used any other folder, type in the path accordingly, the path is case sensitive]
Accept the proposed configurations offered by the provider by clicking OK
Restart GDM/Xserver: sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start

However, in Linux Mint 8 "Helena" there's a different way to stop GDM:

Make sure you have disabled/unistalled previous versions of NVIDIA drivers you may have installed in your PC [System-Administration-Hardware Drivers]

Log out from root and log in back into your profile, switch the CRT for your LCD TV and voilá, you're done. Hope this helps any linuxnoob out there.

With music I think of people. Of all the persons that have been important in my life, all of them have a particular song or group to which I remember them. Each and everyone of them has a song that when played, reminds me of a certain place and feeling in which i lived so vividly, I can taste the surroundings.

One of the first songs that come to mind, that remembers me of a certain person is My List by The Killers. Another important girl in my life goes by the song Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls. My friends headbang with the powerful sounds of metal and rock. Pantera, White Zombie and Heroes will go all with my metal heart.

Creedence and The Doors are listened with fraternal love. Wrong by Depeche Mode, Do It Again by The Chemical Brothers, Carma Koma by DJ Shadow, Portishead, Pink Floyd, Infected Mushroom, all of them have a special place at my music heart.

To all of you that hace given memories to remember you all by, I thank you. You will never be forgotten.

This is the first time Opeth comes to Monterrey and it was a concert to remember. Definitely one of the best I've ever been in a long time.

Opeth is one of those bands that cannot be defined within one genre. Each song traverse through moments of brutal hammering sounds and in a moment, through seas of tranquility. Just give Opeth a listen, if you haven't before, and you'll hear the wide accoustic spectrum that Opeth masters.

Opeth is a swedish Progressive Metal band that begun its life since 1990.

I hope they return, as they saw that the have a huge and admiring fan base here in Mexico.

I am a big fan of music and, thus, I find crative music very amusing. There are few musical groups that compose tracks with such creativity, that they manage to make listeners feel exactly what they meant.

One of such groups is Nine Inch Nails, or NIN for short. They hail from Cleveland and have been around since 1988 when Trent Reznor founded the group. They have released 8 albums, with the last 2, The Slip and Ghosts, being released as free downloads.

They played At the Motorokr Fest 2008 at Mexico City Saturday October 18, 2008. Their show is incredibly amazing with giant screens and effects. Definitely one of the best concerts I've gone to. A must for fans of industrial rock music.

Halo 3: Recon

A new campaign is brewing inside Bungie Studios, the same franchise that gave the Halo Trilogy to the world and, thus, changed how the world would look at video games afterwards.

In the Halo Trilogy: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2 and Halo 3, a story of the last (apparently) man of his kind, a Spartan, unfolds (He's an genetically and technologically augmented super soldier, capable of feats beyond normal human strenght and endurance) and his fight to free mankind from total anihilation by a religious covenant of alien races who deems humanity unworthy of survival is the main course of action throughout the series.

The Covenant, as mentioned before, is a group of diverse alien races driven by religion and most of them are proficient in war. Needless to say, they are more technologically advanced than humanity: better weapons, more warriors, better warships.

The war with this Covenant goes on for years and we only survive because they can't find all the worlds with human colonies, but they kept looking until every last human soul was glassed. This Spartan is a military experiment codenamed Spartan-117 (the number was used to identify every member of this special force) and almost in the end, his fight leads him to New Mombasa where the story reaches climax. The Covenant finally found Earth and are kept at bay because of the discovery of an ancient Forerunner structure (the Forerunners are the gods of the Convenant, an ancient mega-advanced civilization that left existence without a trace of what happened millenia ago).

It is in this point of the story where Halo 3: Recon will take place, but from a different view. You are now an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), or Helljumpers as they are colloquially known, and must pave your way in a mission in more strategic and stealthy ways than before with Master Chief, now you are a mere human. ODST's, similar to Navy SEALS or the British SAS, are the special forces of the UNSC (United Nations Space Command) and are deployed in hot zones and extremely dangerous missions.

This is all that has been unveiled at the moment, but I believe that Recon will have elements of squad operation, pretty much like Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter in which you lead a squad into hostile zones and give orders depending on the situation. An interesting point of view I might add, but lets wait for more info before jumping into conclusions.

Dimmu Borgir returned to Monterrey with their Invaluable Darkness Tour this last saturday (04/Oct/08) and this was the first time I have attended one of their concerts and I must say that they offer quite a show.

Dimmu Borgir is a Symphonic Black Metal group from Norway and have been around since 1993. Their line-up has changed over time but their current Line-up is as follows:

I just finished installing the AUX cable bought at a dealer in Mexico City, Samurai, located in Av. Universidad. The price of this cable in the US is around $13 bucks and I found it just over $450 pesos (that's about $40 US dlls).

It was expensive but hey, did I have another choice? The installation was a breeze after following these instructions. So, if you, me dear IR, have an GT Eclipse 2006 or a Galant with a 6-CD stereo, and you're dying to hear your MP3 player through your RF speakers, you better get this cable. It wont take more than 20 mins and no experience whatsoever. Only be careful and have all the right tools with you at the time (screwdriver (cross) and a sharp knife).

This weekend ends my stay at Mexico City and I leave behind -but bring them with me- memories of my stay in this magnificent city.

Plenty of things happened. I made new great friends, a broken heart (which in the end I realized was a broken ego), had a secret crush and my best friend returned to her family in MxCy and spent a wonderful time with her while I stayed here.

I will never forget my tours to La Comandancia, where most of this friends will stay. DDT, the best live-rock band at the bar played many songs unkown to me but that I will remember for the rest of my life everytime I listen to them. I don't want to name names out of fear of forgetting someone, but they know who they are!

Thank you all for making my stay in Mexico City a great experience I will never forget!

Time does exist but does it? Time is just a word, a human concept that we created. The past and the future have never existed, there's only Present, there is only NOW.

Calendars and watches and planners are tools that we use to manage our daily lives but we cannot control time because it's just a concept. There will never be a time travel machine for the simple fact that if you do, you will change everything in the NOW. You cannot travel to the past and definitively not to the future.

Ok, so I just installed Ubuntu 8.04 (one year later, i know =P)after an unsuccessful install a couple of days before. I don't know what went wrong the first time as I used the same disc for this installation.

Anyway, this is my first post in a Linux OS and I must say this is better than Windows, but I still have a lot to do so Ubuntu runs as I want it to. I'm a n00b so this will be trial and error. First thing is getting the right resolution for my 32" widescreen TV, getting a decent IM program that can handle GTalk and MSN Messenger.

This is a move I've wanted since a year ago but could not do it due to the large amount of crap I needed to back up.

Anyway, I hope one day I'll understand how to modify Linux as I did with Windows.
