WHY So SeRiouS?

I have watched the previous Jokers since the Adam West's show and every actor that played the Joker did a good job from the perspective and tone of the context.

The TV series Joker, Cesar Romero, was just crazy and he really didn't inspire fear. He was just eccentric and cartoon like.

The Tim Burton's Joker, played by Jack Nicholson, was a little darker Joker but although he played a little crazier and did some evil things he didn't inflicted fear.

Now with Heath Ledger's Joker, this character took a complete 360° turn. This Joker is the Joker I always thought could be. Deranged but incredibly smart and uses this to instill fear. This Joker is a real terrorist. He doesn't have a reason, he's an agent of chaos that simply wants to "see the world burn."

Heath's Joker, IMO, is the best Joker I've got to see. A darker, more sinister fiend who really looks insane and wants to see chaos reign. His only wish is to destroy that sense of "safety" our current civilization enjoy.

It's the kind of insanity, the kind of Joker, fit to our times, don't you think?

It's a shame we will not be able to see another Joker played by Heath. Let's hope the next one at least reaches the same level. He really shut up everyone who doubted him, wondering if a "gay cowboy" could outperform Nicholson as the Joker, I believe Ledger impressed even the Legendary Joker Nicholson with his performance.

But do not get sad, "LeT'S PuT a SMiLe oN THaT FaCe!!"

Psionics

I have always wondered whether the statement of some people to have psychic abilities. I cannot deny that I am attracted to the idea of hidden, or dormant, powers of a brain which is supposed is being used only 3% (it may be 10%, w/e) tops. I believe plenty of these "psychics" are charlatans but I still think it could be the most awesome power you could posses. If you, my dear IR, don't know what psychic abilities exist, here's a list:
  1. Psychokinesis, a.k.a. as PK (or telekinesis), is the ability to force an object to move through the power of the mind. This ability, IMO, is one of the best as not only you could move objects, but if you could control movement in an atomic scale, you could freeze or burn things with a thought. You can even produce a tiny ball of light when the lights go out ;)
  2. Clairvoyance, the ability to see either beyond or past and future.
  3. Empathy is the ability to sense other people's emotions
  4. Telepathy, communication between minds.
  5. Manipulation, which is the creation of Psi Constructs.
If you are interested in this kind of stuff, I invite you to visit PsiPog.net. There are plenty of articles that teach you how to's and so on, including media (videos and photos). I, for once, will begin studying this in my free time. Hopefully I'll send the update to your mind through RSS very soon.

eTHeReaL RóS

I don't remember the time I was given knowledge of the existence of an Icelandic group that goes by the name Sigur Rós (which means Victory Rose and is also Jónsi Birgisson's sister, who was born the same day the band was formed).

I must admit that, given my metal background, I found their music hard to digest because it was nothing like I had heard before. One time, when I was thinking by myself (those lucid moments I use to have) I was playing all my music collection at random when suddenly, 'Svenf-g-englar' comes up and in my stupor I begun to relax and I actually felt different. I liked it alot so I went to my PC to see the group's name and what song was playing. To my surprise it was Sigur Rós, a group I was thinking of removing from my collection because I couldn't assimilate their music.

Sigur Rós' music is ethereal, as if it was created and sung by angels. They manage to combine different feelings within the same song and at the same time. 'Olsen Olsen' for example, fills me with happiness and at the same time I feel nostalgic, so I feel happy and sad at the same time. I don't know if this happens to everyone but this music really pulls some emotional strings in me.

Well, this is one of my favorite songs by Sigur Rós, the first I ever 'listened' to carefully and the video is... well, if you wish, you can leave a comment.

Cheers!

Stonehenge a Burial Site?

A group of archeologists recently found out that Stonehenge was a burial site, 500 years prior to the first megaliths being erected in 2,500 BC. This discovery sheds some light over this mysterious man-made formation, which is said to be a place of healing and/or a place to honor the dead. So the recent discovery will corroborate the part of honoring the dead.

I don't think that this is the sole purpose of this "sanctuary". I don't believe that 4,500 years ago, people would go on such lenghts to carry stones weighting around 4 tons from miles (160 aprox-250 km) away juts for a burial site. Anyway, I believe there is more to these stone circles than meets the eyes, or maybe not.

No ZuNe for You!

Ok, I was really excited when I found out that there was an update for my Zune and it's software. There is a number of updates and some of them were "demanded" by the fans for so long, they have listened. Probably one of them was the return of Auto-Playlists, but I will never know because with the update they introduced some kind of IP filtering. Apparently, they don't want non-americans to have this update and probably the reason is the introduction of a Video Marketplace along with 800 tv shows from NBC and some other networks.

It's a shame, really. I didn't want the shows, I just wanted Auto-Playlists and some other things like Add to now Playing... a default playlist that always played your favorited songs, what else? OH!... no, no, I think that's it.

Anyway, sucky sucky for Microsoft.

Boo Hoo for me....

-Edit- As of today [7.5.08], I managed to download the update through Windows Update. Actually there were so many thing they added that way improve the functionality of the player and it's software. Top 2: Autoplaylists and Gapless Play.

Pointless Symmetry

Last night I was watching TV (nothing interesting was on, as usual) and it was too late to begin a 360 game so I kept rolling on the channels to see if I caught anything.

I did caught something alright and it was kind of bizarre, actually, very bizarre; to the point that I never thought I would see that kind of stuff on TV, but hey! Now I know anything can happen in E!

So the story (in what I could get from less than a minute of watching it, I couldn't change channel as I was frozen in horror, like a deer facing a truck at full speed at night) goes like this.

This guy, was unhappy with his asymmetry (apparently, he was not "hanging" well). I cannot tell you how "asymmetrical" this guy was, for I did not (thank god) watch it for more than a minute, but nevertheless the idea haunted me through the night: This guy had waited for "all his life" for this surgery and could not believe how happy he was now that he's symmetrical, and he cried during the whole interview as if it had affected his whole life and couldn't live any longer lest the surgery was done.

Man!! How can you be unhappy with that kind of stuff? What did he do after surgery? Brag about it to his friends??? Ugh!! Another thing, the surgery was televised, I quickly changed channel as to not be branded eternally with the image, for that I thank for the lightning-quick reflexes I've got.

This really was bizarre, I hope I won't see anything like this again, from now on E! is banned (specially that crap of Dr. 90210, but really, everything on E! is shallow bullcrap) from my TV.

Mountain Gorilla Hunters

Mountain gorilla hunters should have, if captured, their hands and feet chopped off with a blunt rusty machete, then left on the jungle floor so Mother Nature can exact revenge on her enemies. Not only the hunters should be eliminated, but the rich bastards who believe having a gorilla's hand/foot as an ashtray is elite. Are you serious? Why don't I chop off your first born's hand, stuff it and use it as an ashtray.

These pieces of crap are the ones that should be scrapped from the face of the planet, the hunter's too but they are only suppliers. If the demand stops, so will the supply.

I pray for a Third Impact that will clean the earth from the parasitic humanity, sure there's good in the world, but really, is it worth the destruction of entire ecosystems? Or the end of entire species? For the sake of progress? no.... sadly, but no... we are the ones that should be eliminated soon... I thought we could learn from our mistakes, but man proves everytime that we can trip on the very same rock multiple times. No learning. Proof? Bush was elected twice. I rest my case.

Kidult

Yesterday morning, as I drove to work, I was listening to the radio, to Imagen 107.7 to be more precise and there was a guest (probably a psychiatrist) and the theme was the behavior of the young adults generation.

It was very interesting, because they were describing that a large amount (I don't know about the exact number and no, I don't believe everything I hear) of young adults, who now can make their own money, have a way of thinking of which I thought I was the only one like that; at the very least, my own circle of friends.

Apparently, plenty of young adults are considered to be kidults, composite for kid and adult, watch cartoons instead of news (specially in Monterrey, local news programs SUCK big time, it's just gossip, literally speaking), play videogames, etc. They are now a force to be considered by companies who sell gadgets, videogames, computers, etc.

Some terms I heard were:

We are basically adults who don't want to be/feel old, who want to keep the best of both worlds: Youth and Money.

Do I think I'm a kidult? Why don't you leave a comment and tell me if you are, apparently we are not a small group as I thought we were.

Father's Day

Yesterday I was offered a project. I always wanted the opportunity, so now I got it. The opportunity for a real jump, I will not let him down!! Now the ball is on my side, I cannot falter or I'll fail. I cannot fail....

I love you dad!!!

1/10,000 of a second

This made me think of what I'm doing with my time:
"If we scaled the age of the Universe (13 billion years (that's 13,000,000,000 for americans) into a single 24hour day, the average human lifespace would last 1/10,000 of a second. What will you do with your 1/10,000 of a second?"

To All Guitar Hero Enthusiasts!!!

Heed this!! To all Guitar Hero enthusiasts, x360 and ps2 fanboys alike!! You think you really rock? You think of yourself as rockstars? Just because you play a guitar with six (yes, only five "fret" keys and the stroke), then yes, you ARE* a rockstar...

*This is, of course, sarcasm my dear fanboy...

Stupid Spidey

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

I cannot believe how stupid the character Peter Parker becomes with each movie. This was, among the three, my least favorite. Putting aside the dancing lessons that sure comes with the symbiote, the emo hairstyle, the black mascara, the professionally jealous girlfriend and the skinny Brock, this movie kinda sucks. Too long for me, they could have cut all the crap off and just leave the interesting stuff; leave the extra for the Extended Version, that would've been a smart move.

The new Venom, hmmm, didn't quite have the "strength" the original Venom has and was kind of ridiculous how Brock came in contact with the symbiote especially after asking god to kill Peter Parker for "humiliating" him. Parker did this because Brock forged a photo of Spidey robbing a bank and exposed him with the original picture and the changes he made.

Anyway, for me there was something missing in the movie, still don't know what it was, maybe the hype was part of this, but I didn't like it as much as the first two.

What do you think? Did you like it? Why?

Americans are NOT Stupid!!

I just had to put this. Not all of them are, but the vast majority truly is. bet they don't even know why they're fighting.... Freedom they say? Were they slaves?? I'd tell you what they are, but I guess you already know the answer, especially after watching this video. Our British friends worked so hard to demystify this issue:

The Road to Awe...

This movie by Aranofsky is truly a masterpiece. The setting, the story, the photography, the musical score, the actors and their acting. A lot of people didn't like this movie and, really, it's no shocker as they have grown accustomed to commercial Hollywood films the likes of Titanic.

The movie has a very surreal environment, as if it's taking place in a dream. Fragments of different stories intertwine to reveal a whole. The main characters are the same in the different stories. Different stories? Yes, but only one theme. They all have a mission a bit different from the other, but somehow they are all connected to the tree of life. Of course they are connected through Izzy's manuscript, but the connection goes beyond this one. Izzy is Tommy's wife in the 'real' story, the other two stories originate in Izzy's telling about the search for the tree of life beginning in Spain, and according to her, ending in the future. They all lose their loved ones in the search for the 'tree,' as it may be the cure for cancer, the search for a fabled tree or the quest to resuscitate it.

In any case, death is the beginning to life. But still I don't quite get this movie. Watch it, think obout it and comment here if you have another opinion of the movie.

Before i post the Roger Waters review, here's this...

Been a while since I wrote anything here, but these past coulpe of weeks have been, how should I put it?, very interesting. First of all, I'm still working on the Roger Waters post-concert blog. I can't upload two (of four) videos I shot to Youtube, which is really frustrating. Second, i haven't had the time to write a full review of the concert: my time is not mine anymore. Third and most dissapointing, frustrating, angering (is this a word?), is the fact that ALL of the tickets for the Héroes del Silencio show in Mexico City are sold. No show for me, DAMN YOU STALIN!!!!

Now, if you have an extra ticket for the show (Oct 6,07) and a kind soul, will you sell it to me? I need two, one for my girl and one for me. I shall be forever in debt, but justice will be done to those whose kind hearts were.... DAMN YOU STALIN!!!!

Anyway, if you have any spare tickets that you would like to sell, drop me a comment, and i will answer like lightning coming through thick clouds.

I don´t want to leave this post imageless so here's my view (i moved more to the center afterwards) of the Roger Waters concert.

Bless you, Roger for the gift of your music to the world!!

¿Copyright?

No sé, ¿tú si?

bad news and a dream

Esos podemos no mencionarlos.*

How do you wake up?

This morning i realized i wake up to very beautiful views, which make me feel good for the rest of the day. Of course it depends on the view, grey sad cloudy days... hmmm.. hate them.... But sometimes views like these are a catch.
I took a photo of todays sunrise so i could share it with all of you!

How do you wake up?
