T'Pol

Well, I would like to talk to someone in special but since I can't I shall speak to you, my IR. Before I head to watch for the fifth time LotR I would like to say something about Enterprise (the latest Star Trek saga) and the way humans behave. This will sound too geeky but I care not about people's destructive criticism anyway.

I have read pretty much 95% (I still have 1/3 of the latest novel to go at this time) of all Halo novels out there and I believe not-so-friendly civilizations could be out there or Planets could look harmless at first contact and to be sure there should be a number of "protocols" to follow in such cases. The protocols could be sending robotic probes for a couple of days to examine the atmosphere and run a scan on weather behavior, on fauna (predators, poisonous, viruses and the likes) and flora (venomous pollen, plants). And no matter what, you don't send your homeworld's location in a message to a ship that does not respond to your hails.

These things are logical if you cannot know the alignment of beings you're making first contact with, don't they? Well, these things are not done by Cap. Archer of the starship Enterprise even if his second in command (a female vulcan by the name of T'Pol played by actress and major babe Jolene Blalock) advises him otherwise. I believe a Captain should be aware of the dangers of space exploration and should assess the possibilities of getting his crew members in jeopardy.

So you know, if you don't follow Star Trek much (I must admit this is my second try at watching a ST series in my life (the first one was Sar Trek: The Second Generation with C
ap. Jean-Luc Piccard.... mmh, I like the name Jean-Luc by the way) but couldn't keep up as my mother grew tired of it and never watched it again (I must say that I had no power over the remote control those days ^_^). Okay, about Vulcans: I believe they were the first humanoid aliens we humans met with. They are a very logical race and can control their emotions as they believe emotions can cloud your judgment. This results in a very serious (and almost obnoxious in a way) and in a way emotionless person, or vulcan in this matter. So T'Pol is always taking serious and is not afraid (remember? no emotions) to say what's on her head as she is confident she is thinking in a logical way. She analyzes every situation but has committed some mistakes, and she has been aware of that. Logically she learns from mistakes. So I would listen to T'Pol's suggestions more often If I was Cap. Archer.

So this was todays LuCiD WRiTiNG, thanx for reading and see you next time my dear IR, t'was a blast speaking to you....

Before I go, I will treat your eyes with some Jolene Blalock candy. Enjoy...

Creedence Clearwater Revisited

Creedence Clearwater Revisited Tour 07 closed yesterday on May 13th here in Monterrey. I must say that, though the auditorium was not filled to its maximum capacity, Creedence rocked out! One of the best concerts I've been to, regarding audience-band. It began kinda slow, as if both sides were too shy to show any emotion. By the end of the first song a few people broke into applause and cheering and a couple of 'Misters' were already dancing around with a 'doubled-sized' beer glass each (the glass was made of platic, so nobody's life was actually at risk).

Song after song the audience was building momentum until the end of the concert. I wish my Dad was there, he would've like it but he was travelling to Shangai at the moment. I heard about Creedence because of him and have old memories with their songs as soundtracks of my life. Surely I was very happy to hear them, you can tell they're haveing so mucho fun doing it, no matter how old they're, at least the drummer is 62 years old but man, he's in a better shape than most people my age.

Besides the concert and the energy these five people projected, something else that came to my notice is that two members were identical with two of my friends, CheChe and Martín.

Keep on Rockin' CCR! If you're back, I will come back to rock with you. I had so much fun yesterday at the gig that i wouldn't mind paying $900 (times two) again.

Eclipsed by the Moon

Ok, i have taken too much time already for just two videos that I can't upload to Youtube, as frustrating as it is and the fact that they are cool (you could see the concert thru my eyes), I just can't wait to share these thoughts with you, my dear IR.

This past March 2, 2007, a living legend came to Monterrey for the first time (i believe). His name IS Roger Waters and the stadium where the concert took place is now considered holy ground (at least by me), we're just waiting for the paperwork.

Anyway, this is the best concert I've been in. Stereo sound, amazing bass, hypnotic visuals. I mean, in Dark Side of the Moon, laughter would come from behind you, I have never heard this in a concert before. The pig, whose name I have forgotten was realesed. This concert was not just a concert, it was The Concert by which upcoming events shall be measured.

The setlist is as follows:

Act I
  • In the Flesh
  • Mother
  • Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
  • Shine on you Crazy Diamond
  • Have a Cigar
  • Wish you Were Here
  • Southampton Dock
  • The Fletcher Memorial Home
  • Perfect Sense
  • Leaving Beirut
  • Sheep
  • One of These Days

Act II

  • Dark Side of the Moon

Act III

  • The Happiest Days of Our Lives
  • Another Brick in the Wall (Pt2)
  • Vera
  • Bring the Boys Back Home
  • Comfortably Numb

Before i post the Roger Waters review, here's this...

Been a while since I wrote anything here, but these past coulpe of weeks have been, how should I put it?, very interesting. First of all, I'm still working on the Roger Waters post-concert blog. I can't upload two (of four) videos I shot to Youtube, which is really frustrating. Second, i haven't had the time to write a full review of the concert: my time is not mine anymore. Third and most dissapointing, frustrating, angering (is this a word?), is the fact that ALL of the tickets for the Héroes del Silencio show in Mexico City are sold. No show for me, DAMN YOU STALIN!!!!

Now, if you have an extra ticket for the show (Oct 6,07) and a kind soul, will you sell it to me? I need two, one for my girl and one for me. I shall be forever in debt, but justice will be done to those whose kind hearts were.... DAMN YOU STALIN!!!!

Anyway, if you have any spare tickets that you would like to sell, drop me a comment, and i will answer like lightning coming through thick clouds.

I don´t want to leave this post imageless so here's my view (i moved more to the center afterwards) of the Roger Waters concert.

Bless you, Roger for the gift of your music to the world!!

Dir en Grey - Inward Scream 07 @ Houston, TX

I must say the concert was worth every penny I spent on the trip to houston, the hotel and the rental car. This is my first international concert, (I assisted to the Cradle of Filth concert in Barcelona, but i was living there, so it doesn´t really count :P) and i must admit i was a little worried for different reason, the first one was money; the second, that the concert could be rescheduled or cancelled; third, that i should had picked up the tickets elsewhere. None of these were a problem at the end.

Anyway, I arrived and the second opening group was already playing, i don't know which one but they are really good. Then came DeG and everybody went insane!! They played some songs I'm sure are on the new album. A lot of the songs were from the previous albums and a few i didn't know but were "sung" by the audience.

They really rock on stage, Kyo cut himself onstage as i have read before and basically kept my head banging since song number one. They are not as big as they're in Japan so they played in a rather small club called Meridian. I really do hope they return and this time head to Mexico, I'm sure they have fans here beside me.

There was no photos/video allowed at the concert lest your cellphone/camera was to be snatched by a gargantuan african-american guy, so i didn't want to take any chances and didn't even tried to take out my cellphone.

The only kind of dissapointment i had was that they didn't play Child Prey (my personal favorite) but other than that, I can only say I would do it again!!

Since there is no video taken from me, i will leave one I found so you can have an idea of the concert. CHEERS!!! THANKS BABY FOR COMING WITH ME!!!

Esos podemos no mencionarlos.*

Poker Night Championship LXXCMM.325

Ghosts of Onyx

Damn!!! This book is really awesome! I just finished reading it last night and I must tell you: I was glued to the book and even though I was very sleepy i just couldn't take my eyes off the pages until every letter concerning the story imprinted themselves into my brain. I must say I found several spelling errors, more than the usual found in other books, but the story went so fast I barely had the time to digest every word, instead I modelled every situation, every battle, either in space or at the ground to the detail.

"Die?" Kurt laughed. "Didn't you know?" He told the Elite."...Spartans never die."

Kurt was a Spartan-II characterized by the fact that he had something like a 6th sense that told him something was wrong. Something like a hunch but one the Master Chief learned to pay heed to, for every time it ringed true. Kurt became the LC (Lieutenant Commander) for the secret project of Spartan-III. In a matter of speaking, Kurt was the more humanized of the Spartan-II.

Great book, I can't wait for the next one. I hope it's out by the time I go to Houston for Dir en Grey's concert.

UFO - The Greatest Story Ever Denied

These objects have always fascinated me, watching them and wondering who are piloting them, are they "manned" object or drones remote controlled from afar? I have been witness, along with my dad, to a situation that was truly weird. It was something i had not seen before, and i know there are a million things that i have never seen but these things, and the formation they were arranged in and the speed they were travelling in, was something i thought was out of this world. I cannot deny these were alien spacecraft as they could be secret human aircraft. I mean, who knows what the belic nations have between their hads, keeping them secret.

People wonder: "If they (more advanced alien civilizations) exist, how come they don't come and expose themselves to us?" Come on!! If you find a species that have developed a technology to kill other members of their race. A race who is extremely xenophobic, who have made clear that whatever comes in contact with us will be considered a threat?

To them we're no more than chimpanzees fighting with sticks and stones, will you give them the technology to make a gun? Of course not!! They may not be afraid of us, they surely pity us because we are a race who is digging thier own grave. They will not come, and surely will make no contact with us, until we have eliminated every thought of war, killing, greed and begin to help every other person out. Develop technology for peace instead of war.

They are studying us in our own habitat. It is general knowledge that to study an animal (yes people, we're animals, we're not vegetables, are we?) you must not alter their habitat and keep a distance so they can act natural. Of course there have been scientist that have fallen victim to lions, hippos, etc., so are they.

But enough of this, this is just my honest opinion, i just wanted to share with you some videos i found on youtube, i watched the first one and i found it interesting. Feel free to watch them. Enjoy.

Posada

Finally, one of my favorite groups is coming to play "near" me. I say "near" because the concert will be taking place at Houston, in a club named the Meridian. This group, named Dir en Grey, is a japanese metal band and is getting the attention of non-asian listeners, quite good i must say. They have toured on the Family Values Tour and on other festivals in Europe along with groups like Korn, Rage Against the Machine, etc. You can find more info on the group at the official site and on Last.FM. I have already bought the tickets for the show (i'm so excited!!!) and now am looking for a hotel reservation and flight tickets!!

I can't F.Ck:Ng wait!!

Here you can check somthing about the group at Last.FM and at the Official Site.

The Killers Concert

Eventhough I don't really like this type of music, this group is really something. I only knew some of the chorus, but i have their albums in my Zune, so i could, at least, recognize them.

Great Concert!

Bossless Friday

Today, just 6 people left alone at the office of a normal 'population' of 30 (aproximately). We had a great time, took some pictures as "someone else". I'll check back on this to post some pics (evidence is we are ever caught).

Cheers
