Numerology and the World Cup
1970 + 1994 = 3964
Argentina was the champion in 1978, after that they won the World Cup again in 1986.
1978 + 1986 = 3964
Germany was the winner in 1990 and in 1974.
1990 + 1974 = 3964
If the universe is this simple, we can only claim to know the 2010 World Cup Champion:
3964 - 2010 = 1954
Who won the 1954 World Cup?
GERMANY!

Piña pa la Niña
Pineapple is loved not only by a handful of people but throughout the entire globe. This acidic fruit is beloved as a cold treat in hot weather as well as an exotic ingredient in plenty of international cuisines.
The pineapple is a fruit native to hot weather, preferably the tropics where is grown as a crop, elsewhere is grown as an ornamental plant.
The pineapple is a compound fruit, meaning that the final "product" is the result of multiple fruits melded together and that is the reason of the external look of the fruit. Each tiny fruit composing the pineapple was a violet flower, which blooms only one day and then proceeds to grow into a fruit which then becomes part of a bunch of fruits melding together by growth into a composite one.

The Strings of Everything
I am going LuC:D this eventful evening. Well, it was not so eventful after all, but some things DID happen. Anyway, what will be the topic now?
Well, the other day I was stumbling around some videos until I stumbled on the first part of three (there may be more, I don't know) videos that explained the String Theory. This Strings are supposed to unify two theories that by themselves, explain perfectly everything within their realm. One is the Theory of Relativity, which deals with one of the four forces that rule everything in the universe: Gravity; and the other is Quantum Physics which deals with the other three forces that describe the smallest of particles: Electromagnetism, Strong Nuclear Force and the Weak Nuclear Force. This four forces coexist in the same universe but until now, we have yet to understand how to unify this two branches of physics and the String Theory is said to be the bridge between these two and not without controversy, of course.
Enough chit-chat, let's get to the videos:

Crystal Skulls

The crystal skulls have been subject to many legends and fantastic stories that lie on the paranormal. Just recently, the fifth (?) installment of the Indiana Jones saga featured them (I haven't seen it so...) but one story caught my eye. Since their "discovery", people have alluded on to these solid crystal quartz skulls special powers such as divination. Even games like Ninja Gaiden 2 have included them into the game.
Anyway, one legend says that King Phillip II saw the defeat of his army on the planed attack on England using "a death's head made from a single piece of rock crystal," lit by "a ray of the setting sun." Okay, this really is a play but nonetheless they have been widely known for their out-of-place artifact status as their manufacture could have been very difficult assuming their pre-Colombian origin.
Now to the legend: It is believed in the existence of twelve skulls of this nature, varying in size and quartz composition. It is believed that if these skulls are reunited at some location just before the end of the Mayan calendar (December 21, 2012) along with a supposedly thirteen skull, they hold enough power to prevent the end of Man.
How will man fall at 2012's Winter Solstice is unknown. No one knows what will happen this precise day and no one will until that day. I think it's BS what is posted in many so-called paranormal sites displaying legends and myths as truth. I might, as well, be a scientologist if I believed this crap. The fact is that I don't think the Mayans were trying to deceive the future generations with such an elaborate calendar, the deceivers are those who try to instill fear into those ignorant of the truth for control's sake. Pretty much like what the church (pick one you like) did and to my opinion, still does. Anyway, that path is one I will take shortly but this is about the skulls.
Just yesterday I read an article at the Discovery News website that it was found that many of the skulls were being studied after the first ones we're discovered to be manufactured with modern tools not available in the pre-Columbian era. They were examined with electron microscopes and the likes of which leave no margin of doubt. Now you don't jump ahead to conclusions that these tools were of alien origin, no, the marks found on these skulls are of terrestrial origin circa 1800.
These frauds were demystified, but I must admit that it was a very romantic idea that these skulls were made by such advanced civilization and possessed an unknown task/purpose that marveled every one who knew of their existence.

Psionics

I have always wondered whether the statement of some people to have psychic abilities. I cannot deny that I am attracted to the idea of hidden, or dormant, powers of a brain which is supposed is being used only 3% (it may be 10%, w/e) tops. I believe plenty of these "psychics" are charlatans but I still think it could be the most awesome power you could posses. If you, my dear IR, don't know what psychic abilities exist, here's a list:
- Psychokinesis, a.k.a. as PK (or telekinesis), is the ability to force an object to move through the power of the mind. This ability, IMO, is one of the best as not only you could move objects, but if you could control movement in an atomic scale, you could freeze or burn things with a thought. You can even produce a tiny ball of light when the lights go out ;)
- Clairvoyance, the ability to see either beyond or past and future.
- Empathy is the ability to sense other people's emotions
- Telepathy, communication between minds.
- Manipulation, which is the creation of Psi Constructs.

Real Unicorn
A unicorn baby has been spotted in a nature preserve in Italy. This is not the fabled unicorn but a deer born with a genetic flaw as it's twin was born with the usual two horns. Though it's rare to see one horned deer, this is the first time a centered-one-horned deer is seen. Unicorn, as it's been called, was born a year ago near Florence, Italy.Source: Discovery News

Stonehenge a Burial Site?
A group of archeologists recently found out that Stonehenge was a burial site, 500 years prior to the first megaliths being erected in 2,500 BC. This discovery sheds some light over this mysterious man-made formation, which is said to be a place of healing and/or a place to honor the dead. So the recent discovery will corroborate the part of honoring the dead.I don't think that this is the sole purpose of this "sanctuary". I don't believe that 4,500 years ago, people would go on such lenghts to carry stones weighting around 4 tons from miles (160 aprox-250 km) away juts for a burial site. Anyway, I believe there is more to these stone circles than meets the eyes, or maybe not.

Qi
I have always believed (though I cannot prove it, yet =P ) we all life forms have an energy within us. After all, we are made up of energy. All the atoms and electrons within the chemicals and elements we're composed of are made up of atoms. What if the ancient arts of meditation in which some individuals have mastered, through meditation, confer a control over this energy?
This energy has been called in many ways but by far the most famous one is, as the Chinese call it, Qi. It's a kind of energy (I don't think it's electricity) that resides within us all and some people have found a way to channel it through them and unto something (or someone) else. Many acupuncturists, monks and so-called healers have said they work with Qi to align or equilibrate someone else's chakras.
Some readers might be skeptical about this topic, I myself have not as yet witness a display of this power but, if you would like to watch the following video I just happened to find a few moments earlier (4/Mar/08 14:07) you would give this topic a little attention. In this video an acupuncturist called Dynamo Jack (he was called like this because he didn't want his real name to be used in the video), an acupuncturist who can display incredible power through Qi, enjoy:

Geekiness
I find geekiness comes in different "flavors". There's computer geek, movie geeks, trekkies (Star Trek geeks) and their sworn enemies: the Star Wars geeks, console geeks (xbox and ps3 fanboys). I could go on and on but the point here is that although I took this test, you can't find how geeky a person is with only 22 questions. Do the test and you'll know what I mean.

Pointless Symmetry
Last night I was watching TV (nothing interesting was on, as usual) and it was too late to begin a 360 game so I kept rolling on the channels to see if I caught anything.I did caught something alright and it was kind of bizarre, actually, very bizarre; to the point that I never thought I would see that kind of stuff on TV, but hey! Now I know anything can happen in E!
So the story (in what I could get from less than a minute of watching it, I couldn't change channel as I was frozen in horror, like a deer facing a truck at full speed at night) goes like this.
This guy, was unhappy with his asymmetry (apparently, he was not "hanging" well). I cannot tell you how "asymmetrical" this guy was, for I did not (thank god) watch it for more than a minute, but nevertheless the idea haunted me through the night: This guy had waited for "all his life" for this surgery and could not believe how happy he was now that he's symmetrical, and he cried during the whole interview as if it had affected his whole life and couldn't live any longer lest the surgery was done.
Man!! How can you be unhappy with that kind of stuff? What did he do after surgery? Brag about it to his friends??? Ugh!! Another thing, the surgery was televised, I quickly changed channel as to not be branded eternally with the image, for that I thank for the lightning-quick reflexes I've got.
This really was bizarre, I hope I won't see anything like this again, from now on E! is banned (specially that crap of Dr. 90210, but really, everything on E! is shallow bullcrap) from my TV.

Chinese 'Dark Brown'
This is funny. Doris Moore, a color Canadian resident bought a new couch (or the whole set I don't remember, she bought something alright!). To her surprise, her seven-year old daughter found the tag in which the Color of the item is described: "Nigger Brown". She knew one color alright, but asked what is Nigger? Anyway, the FIRST error was made by Kingsoft's translation program, in which if you type the dark brown in Chinese, the software translates dark into nigger. This was, supposedly, corrected, but now if you input English nigger, you'll get dark in Chinese.
Funny ain't it? This lady is blaming everybody asking: Don't they read anything? The supplier? The producer? I ask her: Don't you read anything either?? You bought the fucking couch, don't you? I mean, it must have been somewhere visible, her daughter found the tag, a 7 year-old.
Now she's asking for compensation (she wants bling-bling) and she claims none of her friends want to sit on the couch (oh my! why is that? It's a high quality Chinese product [= P] for god's sake!) If you look for this "color" category, you'll find it's actually not that uncommon. Besides, chinese-english translations are very funny, no wonder the "new" color description. And now. the picture with our day's post star sitting on her brand new "Dark Brown" couch, Doris 'I-will-not-take-this-chinese-crap-anymoore' Moore:
